kozuru Ceases Operations, Selling IP to Board Member

KANSAS CITY, MO --
kozuru, a search engine start-up funded in part by the Kansas Technology Enterprise Corporation, is quietly closing its doors after failing to gain traction in the market for question & answer search technology.
Founded in 2004 by John Flowers and originally funded with $3 million from several investors, the company launched its service barely four months ago. The company offered a service that allowed users to ask questions and get answers using instant messaging software on a wireless phone or PC.
The company is apparently in negotiations with one of its board members, David Warthen who co-founded AskJeeves, to sell its intellectual property for an undisclosed amount.
